What options do customers have in regards to Caching?

Customers have been experiencing caching issues with their websites, especially when they are making changes to images from the Admin Centre and attempting to view the changes in a browser. The browser is caching the old pages and any changes cannot being seen until the cache is cleared manually or they open a separate browser.
The same issue also extends to their customers who have an old cached version of the website and don't know the website has been updated.
What options do customers have in regards to Caching?
